There in ’64 or ’65

I was there TDY from Vandenberg AFB to clean and repair the photo equipment.  Just there for a week, but I remember how good the food was.  At that time, there were no trees and the only female was a dog. Everyone wore the same uniform, no matter what branch of the Service.  We had an Insignia showing the branch of the service.  I talked to a Ham Radio operator on the Island many years later who taught photography and mentioned that some of the photos taken by the 1369th Photo Squadron were still there.  It was an interesting place.  Most of the TDY personnel from my Base were there for 90 days and while there would order photo equipment from Japan to have when they returned.
